The 991XH comes in a slim straight fit with a slight taper from the knee through the leg opening. The XH stands for McCoy's "Extra Heavy" unsanforized 14.75oz pink line selvedge denim that shrinks to 16oz after the first wash. Additional details include a deerskin leather patch, "peek-a-boo" selvedge coin pocket, and hidden rivets on the back pockets.

The Japanese have long been the most ardent fans of vintage American clothing, particularly WWII G.I. gear. By the late 90s, most of the good stuff had been found and gobbled up. The demand, however, was still there. This inspired McCoy’s founder Hitoshi Tsujimoto to start a brand making “new” vintage clothing that’s every stitch as good as the old stuff.
Today, McCoy’s is almost universally considered the world’s definitive reproduction brand, producing everything from deerskin A-2 bomber jackets, selvedge jeans, cordovan engineer boots, and loopwheeled sweatshirts with a rabid internet fanbase.
